Mindfulness and Cyanotypes

Ruth facilitates cyanotype sessions, based on the 5 Ways To Wellbeing. We learn about the history and processes of printmaking.
Recent projects have been for Queer Ecology and Scouse Flowerhouse in Liverpool and High Peak Community Arts.

Macmillan Cancer Improvement Partnership

Ruth volunteered for Macmillan Cancer Improvement Partnership (MCIP) where she worked alongside clinicians, GP's and commissioners to help shape the future of cancer services across Greater Manchester. Ruth managed and facilitated an arts project to design and upholster a chair to leave a legacy of the volunteer's work and to inspire others to volunteer in the future. She co-produced a winged back chair with co-designed fabric. The chair went on display at The Christie, Wythenshawe Hospital and Trafford General.

The Men's Room

The Men’s Room is a charity, supporting men and trans people.

In order to reflect the diversity of participants at Thursday's Wild At Art Sessions, whilst increasing LGBTQ+ visibility to the wider public, Ruth ran a series of workshops. Working alongside the (Un) Defining Queer exhibition at The Whitworth for LGBT History month.

Together we took inspiration from the imagery and text from the exhibition and reworked them to co produce a Zine called ‘Queer Times’. The theme for the Zine was developed to explore identity and reflect what it is like to be Queer in 2023 .

To celebrate Manchester Pride, Ruth also facilitated a workshop to reimagine the Pride flag, service users looked at the history of the flag and made their own version.
